Valentines cupcakes

Snow day today! That means some time to bake a Valentines treat! Another cupcake, another frosting recipe to try. This time I tried Magnolia's Vanilla Buttercream. Popular cupcake, so I figured it had to be tasty. And it is! Sugar rush!!! Big difference from the first two recipes I've tried. Maybe even too sweet? Is that possible? I might tweek it a bit next time and reduce a cup of sugar and add a stick of butter. The chocolate cupcake is the recipe on the back of the Hershey's Cocoa. I wanted to make Martha's One Bowl Chocolate but it calls for Dutch Process Cocoa, of which I have none of. The Hershey's recipe is good, it bakes up fluffy. Possible a bit bitter, but that's being picky. A Dutch Process Cocoa would not have any bitterness too it, so I think I need to buy some and try it out. The decorations on top are melted chocolate piped onto parchment paper. They are called Chocolate Filligree Hearts, courtesy of the Martha Stewart magazine (thanks Anne!). Cute and easy to make. I also tried making some letters. Wondering if maybe brides would like a chocolate initial on top their cupcakes?
