Anna Grace

Anna was born April 26 at 5:07 am. She is perfect born at 9lbs. 9 oz. and 21 inches long. We had another amazing natural birth (intervention free) at the ABC Southfield Providence. My midwife, Sue, was wonderful. She is new to the practice that I go to (30+years of experience though) and the day I meet her I felt she would be the one to help bring Anna into the world. Very nurturing and supportive during the toughest times in my labor.
My water broke at 9:30 pm, while watching the Tigers. It caught me by surprise, as my water never broke with my first two. We headed up to the ABC around 11 pm, contractions were becoming regular but easy. Once there I was able to relax. I spent a few hours bouncing on a birth ball and walking the halls. At 2 am active labor was hitting me.  I spent time in the shower and tried the whirlpool tub, but I couldn't get comfortable. Contractions were stacking at about two minutes apart and I had difficulty getting in my hypnobirthing zone. By 4:45 I was complete and the end was near! I finally relaxed and used my birth breathing to help ease baby down gently. Then after three big pushes she was born. Her cord was wrapped around her neck but she was perfect! She spent the first hour snuggled on me and immediately nursed like a pro.

We've been home for 5 days now, and things are pretty perfect. She is content and sweet. Last night she only woke up once to eat!

We are in love with our Anna!
