I can now blog from the comfort of my living room! My brother fixed up the PC in the basement but I was still feeling it was necessary to have a laptop. It is just not comfortable to be in the basement, and when the baby is here I'm sure I will like going down there even less. My friend Kevin L. had an extra laptop (a few years older but good) that we bought from him. He came over and installed a wireless router and got the computers networked to share info. I'm quite excited for this added convenience! :)
My baby shower was last Sunday and it was wonderful. Besides going by to fast, I think it went really well. There were about 45 there to share lunch and the excitement of baby. My sisters, mothers, and friends all did a fantastic job of setting up, planning, decorating, and organizing. The theme was "Welcome Little Birdie", courtesy of Jessica. The invitations were hand drawn by Mandy (adorable). Jessica got great table decorations that included little birds nest at each place setting with candy eggs, large birdhouse centerpieces and bird flower pot centerpieces. Perfect theme for me since I love birds. The food was awesome. Great pizza, salad, pasta, and breadsticks! YUMMM! Annie made a great game that was a storybook illustration board where you had to guess the title of the book based on a illustration from that book. And then we played gift bingo. Always an easy hit. The gifts were stacked up high. Mandy kept me opening gifts at a fast pace. I was fighting a cold, feeling very full from lunch and quickly running out of breath trying to unwrap all the presents hold them up and shout out what it all was. :) We recieved some amazing gifts! Everyone was very generous and we are very appreciative. She has so many outfits now. I'm excited for her to be here so I can dress her up in them!
The nursery is coming along. I still have not purchased a crib and rocker. My dad made a beautiful dresser/changing table out of cherry wood. It is so awesome! The knobs have little classic pooh drawings on them too. I'm not sure if I will be able to find a crib that matches up to the dresser wood? I may just go with white for the crib and rocker, but I can't decide. Annie came over the day after the shower and we got all the gifts unpacked and organized. The dresser drawers are big and deep so it's nice to fit a lot into them. It's a small room with a small closet. Here's a pic of the dresser. The walls are a pale yellow. Once I get the crib and everything else set up I'll do a post with more pics of everything.
