Rainbow Cake

I had to try something fun for Mom's birthday cake.
Cake frosted with raspberry buttercream. It might not be a true buttercream, but it was good! Butter, cream cheese, shortening, sugar, a touch of vanilla and raspberry extract. Yummm!

White cake batter tinted with "a few drops" of food coloring. Just plop the colors one on top of the next and it pushes the bottom color towards the sides of the pan.


Baked and stacked.



Rainbow cake carnage! It was pretty fun to slice into the normal looking cake. I told the girls I put a rainbow inside the cake.
